Grace Digital Radio

A cautionary tale: Grace Digital Radio [Why Home Assistant / Local control is a pre-requisite for my future product purchases]

Much to my chagrin, Grace Digital Radio bricked my Mondo radio, this weekend, so that it no longer connects to my WiFi. It’s just a big clock now. Less function than an old mobile phone.

… making the best of a disappointing situation:

  • Set the Grace Digital Mondo Radio to Aux-In
  • Plug an old phone into the Aux-in audio jack on the back of the radio (3.5mm AUX audio cable)
  • Load the Apps of your choice: Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn Radio, …
  • Priceless: Accepted by the key member of my user community: minimal extra footprint, familiar, easier to use interface

I realize it has been a minute since this thread was updated. I got caught up in this mess with the previous generation GraceDigital radio. I took them up on their offer to replace it at a discount.

I have the Mondo Elite. It works well. I am interested, however, in controlling it from HA. I didn’t find any integrations.

I discovered that the radios have a web portal. You land on it by entering the streamer’s IP address. From there, you have total control … including the ability to tune to presets, navigate to SiriusXM, etc.

Grace doesn’t appear to have published an API, but this interface may get us close. Any ideas on how to control the streamer (perhaps via the webpage) using HA?

Here’s the landing page …
