Group will not work in configuration.yaml

Just got home assistant working in conjunction with openhabian on my raspberry pi. Cannot get vera working for openhab but got it working for home assistant easily. Been trying to group my vera device into group without success event I can see i am inserting them in correctly. May be someone can help out there!
I have insert the following code just below the end of customize
I have tried just add the group: and nothing else below it; and HA will not start up.
Thanks for help in advance

group:
downstairs:
name: Down Stairs
entities:
- switch.dining_49

By the way, I have indent them as show on example in HA

What does your error log say?

Paste your config in then highlight it and click < / > in the bar above where you typed.

Group should have 0 intention.

Hi Adam, got it thanks, configuration.yaml has another group: !include group.yaml in it and that is why it didnt work. I # it out and it worked, many thanks for your help.
Here come another question: I am running a Pine A64 with an android image and have Takser and RM Plugin installed using it as a Hue bridge between Boardlink RM Pro and Alexa. I can see in the log that HA can see the bridge on 10.1.1.40 but was unable to connect to it. How do i make connection between this Hue bridge and HA?

2017-07-03 19:42:21 ERROR (Thread-6) [homeassistant.components.light.hue] Error connecting to the Hue bridge at 10.1.1.40
