Groups of lights don't work anymore

I defined two groups of lights a while ago. They works flawlessly for months. Suddenly they stop working, they are “static”, one group is always on (but the lights are off) one is off. I can’t control them anymore. Any idea? The lights are IKEA bulbs controlled by Z2M. Running all the latest versions, just restarted HA…

More info would be nice - did you create the group in HA or in Z2M? Are they all online and working correctly outside the group in Z2M?

I created them in HA. I couldn’t control them because they were hidden as part of the group. It was really funny, going into the group, seeing the details, pressing on the “on/off” button or doing anything there, nothing happened, no visual updated (as far as I remember I could move the dimming level, everything else didn’t react).

Try creating the group directly in Z2M, that’s gives you the benefit of not having to send commands to every single member like it does when you group them in HA. I cannot tell you why the group has disappeared though.

That was my idea already as well… Should help keeping lights in sync as well… Started with ZHA and moved to Z2M later so these kind of “cleanup activities” look like a part of my planned holiday’s activities :wink:

OK, found the reason… Alexa didn’t want to switch off the lights so my wife took the hardware switch to switch them off. For sure, then HA has no way to control the lights :wink:
