Growatt load consumption entity not showing correct data in Home Assistant dashboard

Hi,

I am pretty new to my home assistant, (I have a Green), and I’ve integrated my Growatt solar energy (Growatt MOD 6000 TL3-XH BP) into my set-up and almost everything seems to be working fine. I get data and pretty graphs, and I’ve started creating some Helpers on my own and they work as well. However, the data presented in one of the entities in my Home Assistant doesn’t match reality.

It’s the sensor.myplace_load_consumption_today entity that doesn’t give me the correct amount of energy I’ve actually used in my house. In the otherwise rather useless app ShinePhone, the load consumption value seems to be right, so I know that the system tracks it correctly.

The entities I mainly use in this instance are:
sensor.myplace_energy_today
sensor.myplace_export_to_grid_today
sensor.myplace_load_consumption_today

In the app, the load consumption tracks all the energy from both the grid and from solar that my house uses, 24 hours a day. The load consumption entity I use in the Home Assistant only seems to track energy used while the solar panels are producing, but I’m not sure what it is showing.

The values for my entities on for instance the 23rd of March according to what I can see in my Home Assistant are:

Energy produced: 17.1 kWh
Export to Grid: 12.8 kWh
Load Consumption: 5.5 kWh ← it’s definitely more than “produced” minus “exported”, so it’s not just showing consumed energy I produced on my own.

According to the ShinePhone app the load consumption should be 10.7 kWh of which 4.2 kWh were self-produced by the system. According to my electricity provider, I imported 6.6 kWh on the 23rd, so those numbers track. (there are some rounding errors here and there, but I’ve ignored those)

So, does anyone know what kind of value the load consumption entity actually provides, and if it’s not supposed to be the total load consumption of my house, is there a way to track that value in Home Assistant with my Growatt installation?

Thank you for your time!
