First of all I am not taking any credit for this, as all the work was done by Profile - HuckleberryLovesYou - Home Assistant Community (HA community profile). I just spent a week googling trying to see how to install HA supervised with no issues given
- Raspberry PI OS is not officially supported - only pure debian bookworn, no derivatives
- RPI 5 is not officially supported as a platform for pure debian OS (bookworm)
this method is for people who do not want to dedicate a whole RPI just for HAOS and essentially make it a one trick pony, yet they do want to leverage addons which HA container deployment does not offer that. I have a pretty beefy RPI (16gb ram) and NVME SSD 1TD, so I wanted to make sure i make the most of it .
i have now ran this 2 or 3 times with no issues. The only hiccup is it doesnt like portainer for some reason and it needs to be renamed
