HA 2021.12.0b1-3 and Alexa Media Player

I have no idea the protocol involved in letting our developers know that ever since 2021.12.0b1 and including 2021.12.0b3, my Alexa Media Player won’t load.
Reverting back to 2021.11 fixes everything though.

Search the github repo for Alexa Media Player issues to see if it’s already reported, and if it isn’t then open an issue there.

Looks like it must be just me.

Or maybe you are the only one using the beta and using AMP.

You probably should submit the issue so it gets fixed before the beta gets released as stable.

Okay done. Now let me take this opportunity to whine about what is required to submit an issue. (but I suppose if ya want to talk to the developers, ya gotta go to where the developers talk).

did you submit it at the AMP github repo or at the HA repo?

Alexa Media Player repo… I think.

If running beta, log a issue on github, stating your running beta
If issue is with custom integration even with beta, then its with the custom integration repo as HA devs wont help with those

Issues · home-assistant/core (github.com)

I saw this and rely on Alexa Media Player so was concerned. Just installed the beta and exact same thing - Alexa Media Player doesn’t work and just says “Not Loaded”. I enabled advanced logging for it too per these directions - FAQ · custom-components/alexa_media_player Wiki · GitHub and I get absolutely no log entries related to why it doesn’t load so I’m at a loss.

These are the breaking changes in the beta so something there must have broke it

I added my comments to the open github issue

Just tried out 2021.12.0b4. No joy. Back to 2021.11.

You need the v3.10.15 beta version of Alexa Media Player to have it working with Home Assistant Beta https://github.com/custom-components/alexa_media_player/releases/tag/v3.10.15

Okay:
Tried thru HACS to upgrade Alexa Media Player to latest beta. No joy. Requires HA 2021.12.0bx.
Upgraded HA to 2021.12.0b5
Re-tried thru HACS to upgrade Alexa Media Player to latest beta. Joy. Then needed a restart.
Restart request of HA threw a strange error and ignored me.
Rebooted PI. Joy. Everything is now working.

Thank you very much for your guidance. This was …not… very intuitive but, mission accomplished.
I guess the saying is correct that; “Working on the bleeding edge… expect to get cut once in a while”.
