HA Apple Watch Complication not shown in Watch App

Hi there,

i never get the Apple Watch Complication with HomeAssistant work.

In the Companion-App, the Apple-Watch Menu looks like this:

It says Manual Update “not enabled” and below “Error updating”.

In the Apple Watch App, I choose the “Modular” Watchface. But there is no “Home Assistant” in selecting a complication.

I have an iPhone 15pro and a Apple Watch 7. All OS/Apps are up to date.

Has anyone ever had this problem and been able to solve it?

Gents, you’d need to ensure the complication you defined is also configured in an active watch face. Without, you’ll never see anything to be updated. See further instructions on how to setup watch faces here:

Hi. Same issue for me as well.

Not sure if related (since video is 2y old now), but in the video at 4:04, it is mentioned that certain complication templates are deprecated: https://youtu.be/7t22v6Wh6HM?feature=shared

Indeed, the docs list them as legacy.

The only problem is that for the Modular watch face, you cannot pick anything which is not deprecated!

I’ve tried the Infograf watchface and could display a HA icon at the bottom right.

Ok. Got it running by using exactly the Graphic Circular complication for my Modular watch face.
Nothing else worked on this watch face.
