HA Areas to Alexa Groups Sync

If you have created a bunch of areas (rooms) within HA, it would be fab if these could be sync’ed across to Alexa as Groups, and then any entities that get sync’ed keep that area to goup mapping. This would mean Alexa would keep up to date with HA as to what devices are in what rooms and make Alexa work better when it comes to querying rooms and their devices.

Once again lost the manual mapping, this time during an upgrade. So now no home assistant learned devices belong to any Alexa group. Having to go make each Alexa group contain each device to match the home assistant area is a real inconvenience. I’ve had to do this several times, I guess that resetting the nabu Alexa integration for any reason resets all Alexa group assignments. Keeping sync would some this problem and more.

This is possible. Last week I’ve seen an script that does it manually. Will try to find it again and link it here, hoping that it will help.
