HA boots and then freezes

I have HA running on a raspberry pi 3b+ booting from an ssd drive via usb.

the system comes up and I can connect to the UI and everything works. however, after a few minutes the UI disconnects with a message that it’ll reconnect but it doesn’t.

I connected a display and as you can see on the screenshots the systemd ends up in a loop where it fails to start certain services.

the whole system is brand new. I installed it last week and it seems to become more and more unstable the more entities I add. memory usage is under 10% afaics…

any suggestion what’s going on here?

How to Troubleshoot Raspberry Pi Crashing

Ensure you are using an appropriate power supply. See the warning at the top of this page: USB peripherals directly attached to the Pi can exceed the power supply limits (for example SSDs and Disk drives). Or use a powered USB hub to power the SSD. A larger power supply for the Pi 3B may not work if the SSD is exceeding the power limits of the USB port

it’s just a small usb ssd stick with 128G

Issue is now solved. I updated to an rpi5 with a 5 amps power supply. System runs flawlessly.
