I don’t know if this is the correct area for bring this up, if not, please move to the proper location.
In February 2022 I opened my first case with Nabu Casa describing a situation associated with the Google Home skill and HA Cloud configuration.
Problem: HA Cloud configuration resets frequently and must be re-enabled on Android device.
There does not appear to be a real reason why this is happening.
a. Thought it was associated with entities being exposed and updates being made to Google home when a new entity was added or removed - Not the issue
b. Thought it was associated with re-starting HA, since that seem to cause some form of reset to Cloud Config - Not the issue I’ve rebooted many times and the issue is random
c. Thought that maybe my HA install on my running VM had some lingering bad, leftover configuration from a dashboard test, device added or removed, orphaned code in a yaml somewhere, automations that may be looping - just looking for root cause
In my last email to Nabu Casa - which I opened a ticket on May 17, 2022 and sent update today May 26, 2022 there have been others bring up issues similar associated with HA Cloud. Don’t get me wrong, there does not appear to be a huge swell of folk that are complaining.
My last update explained to the Nabu Casa tech that, thinking my system or config was somewhere corrupt or bad I would start over and rebuild my entire environment. Here is what I did:
a. Excluded every ZWave device on my network
b. Built a parallel system to move to temporarily and added all of my ZWave devices
(this system ran for about a week and the problem persisted, Google skill drops from HA Cloud Config)
c. Rebuilt my core system
d. Excluded all ZWave devices and re-Included
e. Added the add-ons - File manager, SSH, Samba, ZWaveJS2MQTT and ZWAVEJS, HACs
f. Added my devices (Ring, Unifi, iRobot, ZWave entities, Konnected, Rachio
After going through all of this trouble to try and resolve this issue it persists. I looked at my config this a.m. prior to going to my office and HA Cloud was configured with Google Home skill - upon arriving at my office and logging on to HA Cloud - 30 minutes drive time - 20 mins to setup my laptop - Google Skill is no longer configured.
There was NO interaction from me with HA during this time - and the skill is dropping.
I am only writting here as I need some help - I’m fully willing to troubleshoot with someone that technically capable and do whatever to try to fix this issue.
Since this is happening every day, multiple times a day (after reconnecting/configuring) not only is it frustrating, but some of my security is now unreliable
As I stated, I’ve got two HA configs that are built from the ground up and both exhibit the same behavior.
