I am running HA Companion 2024.8 and it will not connect to my HA server. I can connect from the same machine using the browser but the app says “Loading Data” and then “Unable to connect to HA…Retrying in 60 sec” which it then repeats. This has happned from tie to time and generally if I restart the app it works again (for awhile).

No, I am not.
The browser is a native app to MacOS, but the HA companion App is a Apple iOS app that gets emulated in a VM type set up on a MacOS.
This might be problem, but I do not know how the emulation works in details, so I can not help you further there.
Same problem too. Browser connecting using Brave but the OS APP not at all. I deleted and re-installed the app and same problem
Had thi issue few days ago. Resolved by removing the server from configuration and letting app to discover it again. I do not know why, but despite configuring it for local access, it tries to connect to remote URL and fails… Readding server somehow reset access via NabuCasa for me.
It is probably due to the hypervisor running the VM making a local network, which makes the app see it as a not a home network.
