I’m not the best at troubleshooting HA related stuff. I have a decent system running for over a year now. A while ago I added a Wyze V2 RTSP cam via ffmpeg and my system froze shortly after. Then I purchased some Dahua IP cams that support RTSP. I figured I’d give it a go again by adding them to the system. They worked for a while (5-10) minutes but then completely halts the system. I have to unplug power and then when it boots remove the cams from the config.yaml to go back to stable. I have three wall mounted tablets that use TileBoard. So just by adding cameras, it freezes my system each time. Is this normal?
Well I wouldn’t say it’s normal but if you do a search of the forum you will see that quite a few people experience this problem. Including me. I’ve gone back to the generic still image camera because of this.
Ahhh gotcha. That’s what I was wondering. Hmm well that’s too bad. I’m wondering if it’s because I have three tablets refreshing the feeds all the time
I’ve been playing around some and experimenting with various camera platforms.
What I notice about the ffmpeg camera platform, is that it uses a lot of CPU, especially when higher resolution, large windows are being displayed on the web client.
