HA + deconz (Zigbee) + ZBT-2 (Thread/Matter): Cannot create/find Matter network

Hi *,
I’ve read a lot of material, but somethin is different with my installation:
Setup:
Fresh install in a Pi4 on SSD (coming from deconz with ioBroker).
Installed deconz and imported my old config --° works
Pi gets a permanent IP on 192.168.xxx.xxx internal network
System is now updated to 2026.9.2
Leave all configs on default.

Have some ikea matter devices and wanted to use them. Bought an ZBT-2 for this.
Installed it and selected/flashed the matter firmware as described here till Step 6:

All fine so far, but the next step doesn’t work for me.
I only see the “you dont’ have a prefered network”

Installed manually Thread, Matter server & OTBR as they were NOT installed automatically
OTBR selected automatically
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Nabu_Casa_ZBT-2_441BF6857E98-if00
instead of
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_FT230X_Basic_UART_DM01H1K3-if00-port0
which seems to be OK for me.

ZBT-2 is slowly flashing

Did all so far directly via browser, not via companion app.

OTBR log seems a little bit strange cause of an stated IP starting with 172, which is NOT part of my network

Any idea, where there could be the problem?

Any additional infos needed?

Regards

That’s the docker network, completely normal. Have you enabled ipv6?

Hi,
yes, it was automatically enabled:

Regarding your docker comment. As I didn’t explicitly use docker. Am I right, that HA uses docker internally e.g. for add-ons?
Regards

Correct. HAOS apps are just docker containers managed by the supervisor.

Any further ideas from someone regarding my problem?
In addition i see as soon as I connect the zbt-2 it breaks down my zigbee connections. Isn’t it possible that zigbee and matter coexist? Antennas ZBT-2 and Conbee I have round about 50 cm distance

There shouldn’t be any problem having Zigbee and Matter running simultanously. I haven’t used Deconz in many years, so I am quite rusty. Can you check if you see anything in the logs? If Zigbee breaks when you enable Matter I’m thinking there is a misconfiguration somewhere.

What about Step 7?

Manual says: " You will now see a Home Assistant OpenThread Border Router."
But I don’t see it in this dialog, only “no preferred network”. There I get stucked

There is something, unfortunately I don’t know what it is, that seems way off, which suggests to be the install has a flaw somewhere.

The OTBR Log shows:
[15:29:44] INFO: Setting OpenThread mDNS local hostname to homeassistant-otbr.

which means that the OTBR is sending mDNS advertisements out, and this is what the Thread Integration receives and uses to show what Thread Border Routers it sees. From what I understand, your Thread Integration is not showing any Thread Border Routers. If you installed this HA with HAOS, then these advertisements should show up.

Fixed.
The also installed deconz/phoscon listen also on port 8081. Switched deconz to another port. After HA restart I got a new/default matter network, which I can set as default.
Thx to all

Hmm, can I mark this as closed/fixed?
