HA Frontend is calling gstatic?!

Hi everybody!

I’m using Home Assistant for a couple of years now and the journey was amazing!
The thing I like most about Home Assistant is that it run’s locally if one doesn’t like “Cloud” connections.
I’m concerned about privacy and that’s the reason I’m writing this thread.

I just saw, that my locally running Home Assistant frontend want’s to call some script from gstatic.com.
What is the reason for that?

This are the first sentences from home-assistant.io

############################################################

Awaken your home

Open source home automation that puts local control and privacy first.

############################################################

For me, privacy and google doesn’t match.
So if there is any added value in talking to gstatic, please add a switch for disabling my server doing so.

cheers
Daniel

Maybe mdi icons?
One of your integrations?

Did you disable analytics?
Configuration >> general >> analytics

analytics is off

What about the other stuff?

EDIT
At its base HA is open and no cloud but just like Android unless you use AOSP and check every app you may end up hitting Google analytics or Facebook somewhere since the integrations themselves are necessarily Local only in all case.

What integrations you using?

can you use dev console to see whats calling it ?

Actually, I would rather suspect a custom lovelace card / component.
Is the OP using any?

I checked the scripts for every Tab in HA and you where right, gstatic is called from HACS and not from HA.

thanks
