I have a couple of questions about Home Assistant Green (HAG) that I’m not seeing addressed.
What OS is HAG running? I’m currently running in my ASUS NAS, so in a Docker container. I’d like to run in HA OS so that I get HACS and Add-on support. Does HAG run HA OS?
Can I import my current configuration from a container to HA OS so that I don’t have to reconfigure everything?
Add-ons are other software that run outside of Home Assistant. Integrations are part of HA and either connect HA to software/services, or provide functionality inside HA.
Q for a total noob here: what does this mean for using HACS to add things on that I can’t find in standard searches for add-ons? I did something to add “get HACS” and I keep starting it, but it appears to be stopping right away.
As another total noob with HA I see articles that have instructions based on which OS is being used. In that list I see HA OS and I see Core (among others). However, on my HA Green unit I go to Settings → About and I see the following:
Does this mean the HAG is running HA OS, Core or some combination of both? On my system there is no “config” folder but rather “homeassistant” in File Editor.
@Tinkerer Thank you so much for the answers. I just went in and ran a terminal session and I see that it appears that the “config” folder is an alias to the “homeassistant” folder. Is that right?
