HA on Fully Kiosk - how to make better use of font size and screen space

I’m using Fully Kiosk to display HA on a Tablet focused dashboard. The tablet is pretty big, but I’m not able to fully utilize the space. I can only make text size bigger, and when I do, the text over-fills the allotted text field because that size of the text field seems fixed.

Even though FKB has a “scale” option that should let me put in a zoom level, that doesn’t seem to work. I’ve read that we can use CSS to custom size the font (and the text field size) to our liking, but I’m not sure how to go about it. Is there a better way?

Does the custom CSS solution mean the same as card-mod? And would that be limited to just one dashboard specifically designed for the tablet? I’d be able to keep my mobile experience the same?

I think you are looking at something like this:

type: custom:mushroom-chips-card
alignment: start
chips:
  - type: entity
    entity: sensor.time
    style: |
      ha-card {
        --chip-box-shadow: 0px;
        --chip-font-size: 1.4em;
        --chip-background: none;
        --chip-font-weight: bold;
        --chip-icon-size: 0;
        margin-right: -18px;
      }

Oh, is that why mushroom cards are such a big deal? I see people loving it, but looking at example mushroom card dashboards it’s not obvious what problem they solve other than just “looking different”.
