HA on Protectli Vault

I have been running HA on a RPi for about the last month, but I have really wanted it on my Protectli Vault. I new to HA and don’t really understand which installation guide to follow, or really where to start at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Protectli hardware has 8gb RAM, 128gb solid state, dual core Intel CPU, and it can boot UEFI. I want to partition off about 30gb for HA, and save the rest to run my pfSense.

If you’re looking to run pfSense at the same time, you would need to run a hypervisor like Proxmox to support virtual machines. pfSense is based on FreeBSD which is not compatible with HA OS.

Is that what you’re talking about when you say you want to partition off some for HA?

That is correct. So I guess what I would need to understand better is what I would run the hypervisor with two operating systems, one for HA and the other for pfSense? And if this is the case, would I still manage pfSense from the web interface like usual?

With proxmox it will be like running two computers, and yes you can run proxmox then pfsense and HA on separate VMs, each will run as normal and independently.

Check out Serve the Home. I think they have a number of videos on how to set this up if you’ve never done it.
