When logged to Hass.io CLI -via the SSH& Web add-on, for instance-, entering command “login” one could exit Hass.io and log into the underlying Operating System. No user or password were asked. Prompt changed from “-> ~” to “#”.
In some recent release -las 2-3 months, not sure- this seems to have changed, and now command “login” is answered with the prompt:

I have tried different users (root, the user defined for SSH & Web, etc) to no avail. User “pi” seems to be accepted, but it requests a password I ignore.
