Hi all together,
my system, HA on RPi5 always shut down and I can’t find out why. The system is installed in my motorhome. The system already installed only view month (May 2024).
On first time I see the problem was in the summer time. Therefore I thought it is to hot inside the motorhome. Therfore I changed the housing of the RPi to a bigger one, but it doesn’t resolve the problem.
Somebody knows the probleme or have a solution to find the fault?
Greetings Ug,
Welcome to the forum. Let’s see if I can be of any assistance.
There needs to be a little more information passed along here for us to help you I believe. This I’m predicting is something that has to be fixed in person unless you have some logs showing a problem.
IS HA running when it quits, does it restart correctly, ie there anything in the logs?
Is it a power supply problem, how are you generating the 5 volts for the PI, is that able to supply 5 amps continuous?
Is the power to the PI power supply stable, you battery up to voltage and stable, charging system(s) not giving you E-noise. (Bulbs, heaters and motors don’t care, electronics do…)
You mentioned heat, the pi power supply can also overheat and shut down, all those kinds of things.
This is a mobile unit, all the wiring tight and not rubbed thru intermittently.
That’s your problem right there. A direct usb outlet can only supply 2A of power at most. The pi5 needs 5A, so basically you’re feeding it with less than half the power it needs.
You can even see the under voltage warnings in your screenshot above. Your pi is restarting because it’s not getting enough power.
