Ha on Synology NAS, unable to reach GUI intermittently

Running HA on my synology NAS successfully as a VM, but every few days, we cannot get to the GUI. I can connect to the VM through the synology interface and HA is running, has an IP, but from outside the VM a simple PING to the box times out.

The only resolution is to restart the VM.

What’s my next step in diagnosing this issue? I don’t know if it’s an HA issue or a VM issue. Note that I have a 2nd vm running (a simple windows server, unrelated to HA) that has no problem with any connection.

Note I’m on OS 13.2, Core: 2024.11.3

Just a wild guess - do you have NAS firewall enabled? If yes, try turning it off.
Also, has the HA VM fixed or dynamic IP address?

The VM has a fixed IP. Negative on the NAS firewall. Seems like if a firewall was blocking it it would block it all the time, just not every few days?

I think my solution is going to be to write a script to reboot the VM every day at 4 or 5 am.
