HA on VM unable to connect

I’m pretty new to this so apologies if this is a dumb issue but I’ve searched and I can’t find an answer.

I have HA running on a VM on my main PC, it’s always on and doesn’t sleep. Whenever I leave it running for a while, after an hour or so HA becomes unavailable through the app and the browser using both local and nabu casa logins displaying the ‘Unable to connect’ error. HA is still running fine in the VM but the only way I have of accessing it from here is to restart the VM. I can then get in fine.

Anyone know what’s going on here? I followed this guide to set it up except it was a fresh install rather than a migration.

Take a look at the host (windows?) machine and make sure power management is turning off any peripherals, (USB, NIC, Etc) to save energy.

Assuming you are using VirtualBox, I used this guide, which works perfectly.

Yes it’s a windows 10 machine running VirtualBox.

I’ve checked power management and can’t see anything. The computer never sleeps (it’s actually something I’m trying to look into as well as I have set the screen to turn off after 10 minutes and it doesn’t)

Was that meant to be a hyperlink? Or were you referring to the link I posted?

LOL, Oops, forgot the link…
