HA on VMWare Workstation Unable to Download HA Addons

Hi,

I’m brand new to HA but do have plenty of IT experience so getting it installed into my lab environment using VMWare Workstation was no problem. I’ve configured a lot of the basics and linked it to various third party github repositories to for example add Tesla vehicle support. I can install community addons such as “Advanced SSH & Web Terminal” via Settings > Addons but anytime I try to install an ‘Official Addon’ such as “Duck DNS” or “Lets Encrypt” I’m facing the same error:

## Failed to install add-on

Can't install homeassistant/amd64-addon-duckdns:1.18.0: 500 Server Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.45/images/create?tag=1.18.0&fromImage=homeassistant%2Famd64-addon-duckdns&platform=linux%2Famd64: Internal Server Error ("Head "https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/homeassistant/amd64-addon-duckdns/manifests/1.18.0": read tcp 192.168.0.147:41122->34.226.69.105:443: read: connection reset by peer")

So far I’ve tried;

  • Updating to the latest HA version which appears to be 13.
  • Updating my DNS settings to rather than use my router use Google DNS.
  • Disabling the internet check briefly whilst trying to install.
  • Multiple reboots of the VM and host PC.
  • Disabling IPv6.
  • Changing from a bridged network to specific network in my lab environment and routing internet access out through a virtual firewall with its own DNS.

None of these things have changed the errors I’m getting so I feel I must be missing something. I plan on buying a dedicated piece of hardware like the HA Green etc and transferring the config over but I’m treating this as a sort of no risk test of HA to see what I think.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Check if you have enough disk space.

Plenty of disk space, new install is also the same.
