HA restore backup

I am currently restoring a HA backup. In the documentation (Common tasks - Operating System - Home Assistant) is mentioned:

To see if the restore is complete, reload the page from time to time.

However, refreshing the page didn’t work and the progress was gone. I tried going back to the onboarding link again and now it just shows a turning progress image. I am not sure whether the restoring progress is still continuing now.

Why does the manual say this while it doesn’t work correctly?
Is there any way to follow the restoring progress now?

Hi rednas,

It’s a sore point with many of us. It is slow. There is some way to watch the log, but I just wait an hour and see if it’s there.

It takes longer than you would expect.
