HA, Skyconnect, & Thread: Is it operational?

What looks to be the official HA Skyconnect page indicates (at this time):

A future firmware update will bring Thread support; allowing SkyConnect to be used for Matter-over-Thread devices

I see many posts suggesting some people have sort-of got it working, but they don’t give me confidence.

What is the current status of using Thread on HA over Skyconnect? Does it work reliably without a team of hardware, software, and firmware engineers fussing over it? If not, is there any indication of when it will? Is the project still viable?

I have a number of Nanoleaf bulbs I would like to connect to HA and have my eye on a number of other devices…

TIA!

In short: It is still very much a work in progress.

My skyconnect is working as a thread border router. I could not get the Multi-protocol support work, tried three times over three months. My ConbeeII still runs my ZHA and my skyconnect runs Thread.

Thank you! You’ve provided an “existence proof”: It works, if not in multi-protocol mode. I have no Zigbee devices, so I should be good to go (I hope!).

I’m a refugee from the Great Insteon Shutdown that emmigrated to the Land of Home Assistant with a vow to only populate my domain with Matter & Thread. (Yes, unrepentant optimism for the future…)

I recently purchased Matter-over-Wi-Fi and Matter-over-Thread devices as a proof-of-concept. Matter-over-Wi-Fi seems to work; I’ve had difficulties with Matter-over-Thread.

I expected my Apple TV to act as a Thread border router (TBR), but was dismayed to discover it needed the Apple Keychain to be shared with iCloud which I do not allow. Sigh…

I’ll get a Skyconnect and attempt to replicate your success. Thank you again!
