HA Software Level Interface with Building Management System

We are requested to interface HA software with existing BMS (Building Management System) in a facility building. The reason of this interface / integration is that the facility manager wish to have the BMS as a master monitor and control system/station for the facility.

So, any one made a software level interface from HA to BMS? what would be the interface method and protocol? Could anyone help with a solution or suggestions?

Depends on the BMS I guess, one way would be to use the REST API:
