HA super slow since core-2021.4.4

I updated my Raspberry pi4 yesterday, but since my home assistant is very slow.

some elements from the web interface take a long time to load, some tab too, but even turning a light on have a 15 seconds delay !

Everything was working just fine before

It’s seems very slow straight after a reboot, but thinking about it, I wonder if the issue is with node red, my hue light seems normal from HA dashboard, but when running from node red, there is a huge delay.

But that doesn’t explain why home assistant interface is slower

— I take it back, there is a long delay on zwave devices too

It’s an IP address for the docker container. All addons will have an IP address in that range

That what I thought, my Nginx proxy manager is probably not setup correctly but It’s still pushing trafic through port 443.

— I do have trusted_proxies 127.0.0.1 in my config file so not sure why this address is denied, just added IPv6 (::1 and 172.30.33.7)

I didn’t changed anything from the config file since the update and everything was working normally before the update so I don’t think it’s link to the issue I’m experiencing but I probably need to keep a closer eye on this

Node red add on is using 17% of cpu that seems a bit excessive no?

Hi there, I also updated my RPi 4B (4GB) yesterday. No issues here with UI or light responsiveness. I’d say my cololight response is very snappy even. (When i control them through a lovelace dashboard button.) However i have noticed a substantial increase in reboot time but this could likely be caused since i installed many addons lately.

Nodered, influxDB, grafana. Installed and running, but not actively using yet. Bear in mind i am running home-assistant supervised, not the HA operating system. since this RPi also acts as a NAS.

I do concur. I have also been experiencing significant performance issues since upgrading to 2021.4.

In particular, I do have a few entities cards with history-graph that became extremely slow to render (multiple minutes - vs. a few seconds previously).

I checked the logs, and I have numerous warnings and errors (see below). Not sure where to start to troubleshoot.

I waited for a few minor releases before reporting the issue.

Any help appreciated!

I’ve also been having performance issues since 2021.4.4. And this is on an Intel Nuc i-5 11th Gen with 16GB of ram and 512 GB NVME SSD, neither of which are even close to being fully utilized. Navigating home assistant in general is super slow, log page also takes ~5s to load where before it was about instant.

I’m going to downgrade and see if that fixes it.

Edit:
Reboot didn’t fix it. Downgraded to 2021.3.4 and the issue seems to be resolved.

I did downgrade too but its annoying cause some add-on required 2021.4.4.

I did a full copy of my SD card (Raspberry pi 4) before upgrading at the first place, so I tried different card and upgrade again but I always have the same issue… so I can’t use 2021.4.4 at all for now.

I’m experiencing the same issue. However, for me it appears to only be slow on the “loading data” splash screen after login. Checking the network logs in developer tools, I can see that it took a minute to switch protocols (HTTP code 101) for the websocket. This seems to have started when I enabled SSL.

This is in Firefox. Trying this on Safari where I have never accessed my home assistant instance before, there is no issue. Clearing website data in Firefox does not help.

I am having the same issue after Release 2021.10.3 if you try to configure anything in integrations it just freezes or is very very slow to react. I thought it was a browser issue too but checked it in Chrome too same thing. I cleared cache and rebooted but still the same. I am running HA on a stand alone NUC with the HA OS installed. This just started so I am backing down to test if it is the release. More to come.

Ok that was it the Release 2021.10.3 was the issue. I backed it down all was working good.

Any news about this issue?
I’ve been experiencing the same kind of slowdown, which seems mostly related to activities that involve reading logs/files (just a rough guess). I’m running a RPi4+SSD with very low load.
The issue likely appeared with the same release @lowrisk75 talked about but still persists today with 2021.11.5.

EDIT: a quick search here in Community revealed that my problem is purely related to RPi4 with external USB storage. This solution worked like a charm: Supervisor Logs Extremely Slow to Open - #22 by Veldkornet
Actually I thought I already applied this kind of configuration when I first setup Hassio… maybe it got wiped (or I inadvertently changed it) when upgrading Hassio.

The post is about 2021.4, your problem is a year later (2022.4 ) so I guess it is another problem alltogether.
