Hello. I set up HA 2022.8 last month on an SSD. All was well until I tried to upgrade to 2022.9. It would seem like it updated, but will still be at the old version number. Today a second update was available for Core? I think? That installed OK. Then I tried 2022.9 again … It booted up to the 1st boot screen…like a fresh install. I did make backups, but didn’t realize I would need to download them. Is there a way to access backups stored on the SSD?
That would be like backing up your boot drive on the boot drive.
You would need to put the SSD on a Linux computer then look in the /backup directory. The .tar files are your backups. Copy these into your Home Assistant /backup directory (use sudo because root is the owner) and you should be able to restore your latest backup.
➜ / cd /backup
➜ /backup ls -al

Steve,
I never thanked you for your reply. THANK YOU! I was able to get it sorted and I set up the Google Drive integration for my backups.
Please mark the solution. It might help with my rep.
