HA Unable to connect - Error Code: -6 net::err_connection_reset

Hello!

I am spinning in circle regarding this error code :

Unable to connect to Home Assistant.
There was an error loading Home Assistant. Please review the connection settings and try again.

Error Code: -6
Description : net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

I had both my android phone connected to my local HA and controlling everything fine, then I updated HA core to the latest version and both my phone got this error. I tried :

  • Restart HA
  • Reinstall of HA Android on both phone
  • IP Change on the modem for both phones
  • Removing any VPN tunnelling on both phones and HA

At this point I’m considering going back to the previous version of HA but it’s frustrating because everything was working perfectly until the update.

Any idea of something else I can try before I give up?

Thanks!

Hi @Logan,

could you solve the issue? And if so, how did you achieve it?

Thanks,
HANT

Same here. I can access my Home Assistant website, but it gives me this error on my mobile app. Both on minimal and full versions of the latest Home Assistant apps on Android.

in order ot help we need the actual error message

Sorry for the late reply, but the app on Android isn’t that detailed. It is exactly like what OP said.

Unable to connect to Home Assistant.
There was an error loading Home Assistant. Please review the connection settings and try again.

Error Code: -6
Description : net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Update: I tested this on an iPhone, and I was able to log in. However, I’m not able to log in to either HomeAssistant apps on Android.

Hello everyone,

I just installed the latest HA version on an intel NUC and configured remote access via a reverse-proxy configuration on my Synology NAS.

I’m facing the same connection reset error when I use the android app with 4G (wifi is disabled). Same behavior when I try to access HA via Chrome and Edge (ERR_CONNECTION-RESET) but it works perfectly fine with firefox browser!

When I use my wife’s Iphone, I can access HA (via 4G - wifi is disabled) without issue with Safari or Chrome.

Please let me know if there is a debug procedure to follow in order to provide relevant log files.

thanks for the help! :slight_smile:

update: I’ve done the recent upgrade and I’m still facing the same issue and behaviors.
