Im running HA Core version 2021-8-4 and have put off upgrading due to a recurring error that has been reported by many users. When i run the ‘Check current Home Assistant configuration against a new version.’ add-in I get the following error:
Fatal error while loading config: (idna 3.2 (/usr/local/lib/python3.9/site-packages), Requirement.parse('idna<3,>=2.5'), {'requests'})
Failed config
General Errors:
- (idna 3.2 (/usr/local/lib/python3.9/site-packages), Requirement.parse('idna<3,>=2.5'), {'requests'})
I have read that some users have successfully upgraded despite the error, and that the error is a problem with the add-in and not a system error. However I am very reluctant to try this without some user feedback. Can anyone confirm that it is SAFE to proceed, or point me in the right direction to fix the problem. I have attached a screenshot of my current system, which is running on a RPi4 w SSD drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
