HA Voice PE won’t play the voice of the assistant

Setup my voice PE and it doesn’t work when it tries to speak to me as the assistant. I ask it a question and on the app it’ll say it’s responding but no audio is heard. Yes the speaker audio works I hear all other noises and audio.

I can’t even test the voices during voice assistant setup. I click “try” and the lights even light up but I don’t hear anything. At one point it told me an error.

I have factory reset several times, at first it was on IOT VLAN with firewall permissions to communicate with the Rpi5 hosting HA (docker), but I tried the main VLAN and still isn’t working.

I have also tried restarting the device and reloading the integration.

I am using cloud btw and I believe I set all preferences for it to use cloud.

Also, I did get it to work momentarily, at one point I asked it a weird question and it was able to tell me it didn’t understand, next I asked it the time and it actually said it! When I asked more questions it went back to not working.

It also does listen, I asked it to turn on a lamp and it did it, it just won’t play the assistant audio!

Is this thing just faulty? And advice?

I ran into something similar when I was first setting up my Voice PE. I ended up taking control of it with ESPHome so I could view the logs and what I determined was my Internal HA URL was missing the port. Once I updated that the voice worked on my Voice PE.

Settings > System > Network > Local Network

Not sure if this is your issue but could be worth a check.

Thanks I did check this as someone else mentioned the issue.

Switching on the beta version seemed to fix the issue, it’s running now!
