HA Windows Bridge – Control and Monitor Your Windows PC from Home Assistant

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on called HA Windows Bridge.

It actually started as a pretty simple idea. I wanted to control the volume of individual Windows applications from Home Assistant and replace the tablet I was using with Touch Portal with a proper Home Assistant dashboard.

As I worked on it, I kept adding more features, and it eventually turned into a much bigger project.

Now, besides controlling Windows and individual app volumes, it can also show what’s currently playing, control media playback, monitor PC performance and activity, and perform actions like locking, sleeping or shutting down the computer.

I’ve also added support for sending notifications and popups from Home Assistant directly to the Windows desktop, although that part is still a work in progress.

Most features can be enabled or disabled individually, so you can use just the parts you need.

The project includes a Windows application and a custom Home Assistant integration that can be installed through HACS.

It’s still being actively developed, so there may be a few rough edges. I’d be interested to hear what you think, especially if you have ideas for features that would be useful in your own setup.

Hope someone finds it useful!

That’s a lot of work. Well done. It does seem to have a huge functional overlap with HASS Agent. Have you considered contributing your volume control system to that project?

Thanks
It actually started as a simple script that synced volume levels between Windows and Home Assistant in both directions.
I m actually a BMS programmer, not really an application developer, so I built it with the help of AI, but I ve spent many hours testing, fixing and tweaking everything to make it work and look the way I wanted.
HASS was actually one of my inspirations, and I m definitely open to collaborating. I m just a bit obsessed with how things look, and I also wanted the freedom to add whatever features come to mind without having to ask someone else to implement them.

@Grzechu51 just getting started, quite literally at the install process for the windows app, just a heads up, the “create desktop shortcut” option is in Polish still and when finished, the “launch” HA Windows Bridge is too, so either hard coded or not picking up on system language (English UK)
