Hi all, HA newbie and I have jumped in with a HA yellow. I am following the guide Getting Started – Home Assistant Yellow but get stuck at choosing storage. I am using Raspberry Pi Imager 1.8.5 but when I select storage there is nothing listed. I can see the HA device in my device list on my PC (BCM7212D0 Boot). The cable I am using works for transferring data to my phone so its a data USB cable. I have the JP1 set to USB, I press the recovery button when powering up. My concern is my pi CM5 module was not in an antistatic bag when it arrived, just in its cardboard box. Is there any way of confirming if the module is OK? Am I missing something obvious?
Hi all, I’m new to Home Assistant and just got my HA Yellow up and running. However, I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock during the setup process. When using Raspberry Pi Imager (version 1.8.5) to flash the SD card, I don’t see any storage options listed when selecting the target device.
I can see the HA Yellow device in my device list on my PC (BCM7212D0 Boot), and I’m using a data USB cable (one that works for transferring data to my phone), so the cable should be fine. I’ve set JP1 to USB mode and press the recovery button when powering up the device, but no storage is detected.
Additionally, I’m a bit concerned because my Pi CM5 module arrived without an anti-static bag, just in its cardboard packaging. Is there a way to check if the module is working correctly or if it was damaged during shipping?
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have suggestions for troubleshooting this? Could this be an issue with the cable, the module, or a setting I missed?
I’m
Stick on the same issue.
My PC doesn’t read the CM5 as a storage option when going the through the steps on RPi imager
Did you end up getting a resolve for this ?
Not yet. I have a support request open with pi hut but I have tried all they suggest so far with no improvement. I think next step will be to return one or both parts and try again.
