HA Yellow - First HA install with CM4

Hi All.
I’ve just received a new set of HA Yellow together with CM4. Trying to install HA on it for a while now with no sucsess. Tried 3 different USB sticks, all read by HA Yellow, leds are flashing but ending up with solid red and yellow led ON and green flashing every second.
Tried also rpiboot-CM4 through usb-c, all completed, but only red led is ON instead of green one.
Anyone had a similar problem before? Could it be hardware problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

What model number is your CM4 module?

It is CM4004008

That is the model with 4GB of RAM, 8GB of eMMC storage, and no WiFi/Bluetooth. Should be fine to run HAOS on the HA Yellow.

It sounds like you’ve followed these instructions, but if not, I thought it best to provide a link to them. Just ignore the Optional NVME sections for now.

There are different images for the HA Yellow. Be sure to use the correct image depending on which installation method you’re attempting to use.

If trying to boot the HA Yellow off of a USB Stick, please make sure that you have flashed the USB drive with the HA Yellow Installer Image. This only works with a CM4 module.

If trying to use the rpiboot to mount and flash the eMMC module of the CM4 over a USB cable to your PC, then please use the HA Yellow HAOS CM4 image (not the ‘installer’ version.) Follow these instructions Reinstall the Home Assistant Operating System on Raspberry Pi CM4 – Nabu Casa

I personally just use an m.2 NVME SSD to boot my CM4/CM5 module. I simply place the NVME drive in a USB enclosure, and then use the Raspberry Pi imager to load the HAOS image for the Yellow directly on it. As long as the eMMC on the CM4/CM5 is empty, the system will boot directly from the NVME drive.

Just to let you know. I’ve replaced the MC4 with MC5 and all went well through rpiboot. Propably the MC4 unit was defective.
Thanks for your help.
