I recently installed the HACS Average integration. With the goal to have a ‘average temperature’ of my temperature sensor.
Any idea why the average temperature is rising while the temperature is lower than the average?

It is probably a rolling average of the last ‘n’ samples. So, if you think about it, it makes sense that the average would continue to rise due to that massive temperature spike. It then dropped back to match the actual temperature once the data points containing the spike were removed from the array of points that comprise the average.
Now that I’ve been thinking about that for a while, it makes sense indeed. It keeps rising because the (stable) temperature after the spike is a couple degrees higher than the stable temperature before the spike.
Thanks!
