HACS Installation problem

I followed the instructions in a YouTube video to install HACS. Everything went just as the video said EXCEPT my end result is not right. See the attached. How do I get it where I can choose from the HACS categories in the right panel?

That would be in the icon just right of “CLEAR”.
It’s all explained here https://experimental.hacs.xyz/docs/basic/dashboard (which is not a static video, it is dynamic to allow for updates when things change).

@ludeeus Sorry, I’m an HA newbie. I don’t see how that info gets me from my original screenshot to this one which is what I expected to see. Can you be more specific?

You chose to get the new UI.
Both what I wrote and the link I shared, tell you how to select the things you asked about (integrations etc.)

@ludeeus So the screenshot in my first post is the NEW UI for HACS and the screenshot from my 2nd post is the OLD UI? I have to use the filter tool to pick from the categories of Integration, Theme, Lovelace, or Template - is that right?

That is somewhat correct :+1:
You do not have to use the filter, you can just search for what you want.
Or clear the active filter to browse everything available

@ludeeus OK thanks. Last question, can I go back to the old UI?

You can turn of experimental features in the configuration. But at some point the old interface will be removed. Also the new interface has additional features, such as support for templates. So my advice would be to get used to the new UI. It is easier to work with.

For now, yes. That is described in the docs.
But you should not, the new is better and more efficient in every way.

No, you can just search, you do not need to filter if you do not want to hide things in the list.
