Had to take different path to get it to work

Working now with telcat,. instead of a telnet script.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but it’s always a big help to me when doing IFTTT HA integrations.

Thanks for the information.
We are still having issues but we think it’s a matter of our device not being set to accept data through its tcp/ip port. We’ve only been able to send info to it through apps that we believe has a “handshake” initially. For instance we have to enter the IP address and port and also press the “connect button” which we think is the part that’s holding us back as it seems that the Maker Webhook doesn’t have a way to “connect” to our device upfront so that our device will be prepped to accept the simple text command we are wanting to send.
Which brings me to ask, what devices will accept a command remotely without first having to have a “connection” made?
Not that it matters but we thought our device was fairly simple and should handle this POST

Not sure; I haven’t run into this issue yet with the few IFTTT commands I have set up. Mostly I am using them to fire scripts.
