since yesterday 1 of my temperature sensors doesnt update.
All others are working normal.
and only in the browser on my PC. on my mobile it shows the right temp.
i cleared my cache and i restarted HAdashboard.
no errors except an error that was there all along about gsub not being declared (weather which i dont use)
scheduler caught exception:
undefined method 'gsub' for nil:nillClass
.../homeassistant.rb:319: in 'block in <top (required)>'
...
...
...
but the problem has expanded.
now my other sensors dont update anymore also.
but when i reload all are updated except that 1 sensor.
hapush shows an update.
and the sensor can be seen in the hadashboard after a reload.
before i had the error only when i restarted hadashboard. now it keeps coming back
the only thing i was working on was the inputslider.
i made an addition in
homeassistant.rb
hapush.py
but that seems to work like it should.
i made a new dir hainputslider with the needed files and they all work like it should.
switches that i update in the HA frontend are also updated in dashboard
if i update the inputslider in HA the dashboard gets also updated.
hapush shows updates from my sensors.
dashboard shows updated at reload and if i update switches, inputbooleans, inputsliders but not for sensors.
and now and then (not every time) i get that error.
Not that I donāt trust you but Iād like to see if the same thing happens with the latest version of my code.
Alternatively you could send the input slider code as a Pull Request then I could check it and add it to HADashboard - as it stands, its hard for me to support code that has been changed!
i wanted to post the code here (i dont know how to make a pull request ), but i made it on the RPI and somehow i cant login on this website on the RPI.
i did a comment out of the icon in the weather part (schedular) and the error is gone.
i found my failure. somehow the call_ha line in hapush was deleted.
still strange that by reloading all other sensors got updated, but that 1 not.
maybe on 1 time you could help me understand github.
I had asked @brusc if he would do a video on Github (upping your configs for sharing, doing a PR) and he said heād put it on the list. But it would be great if someone could find the time to do this as a blog post.
it is a bit to complex to grasp without reading a lot.
and reading in english gets me tired after a short while and then my concentration gets lost.
i dont see the basics from github.
i edit my code on my pc or my PI and then i have to upload it?
and on my pi i am already glad that i am able to change things. Linux is also not easy if your not familiar with it.
there is a lot to get in my brain in the last year.
Linux
python
yaml
jinja
arduino sketches
and now through dashboard
ruby
coffeescripts
refreshing my memory for
CSS
HTML
in the same year refreshing
MYSQL
PHP (off course a lott has changed since i last used it)
API from HA and Mysensors
and i wonder why it all doesnt get up there in 1 time
pff iām getting old
it is actually my third language because i live in Germany now for 11 years, therefore is german my second language (first is dutch)
but thanks for the compliment.
Even more impressed now. But not surprised; when I was active in the Joomla! community I co-authored a component with a dev in the Netherlands and found out many from the region speak at least 2-3 languages.
(Wow, do I feel like the proverbial āUgly Americanā!)
there are a lot if they have a little higher education.
on the highschool i was very glad to get rid of my german when i was 16. for german i Always had very, very bad notes.
in english i was just below average and that almost did cost me my graduation
people who are livin in Germany, england, usa, france mostly speak only one language.
i dont think i would bother to speak anything else if most off the people understood what i was saying in dutch
