HAOS boot option does not show in UEFI BIOS - Intel NUC

Hey Folks,

i can not install my HAOS on my Intel NUC 5 I3RYH MP / Core i3.

I booted in Ubuntu from an USB Stick, Installed Balena Etcher, etched the Generic x86-64 image to the nvme (internal hard drive) - got a warning (care, this is your harddrive!) and proceeded.

Now i reboot and … there is still no boot option for the HAOS.
So i used efibootmgr --create --disk /dev/ --part 1 --label “HAOS”
–loader ‘\EFI\BOOT\bootx64.efi’

And still no bootable partition!

The boot list is empty, only showing LAN. WHen I pug in my USB Stick with Ubuntu, it is recognized.

UEFI activated, Secure boot deactivated.

Did you use the image for the NUC with Balena Etcher.

Yes I did and have HA running fine on my NUC

I don’t see the drive name specified in this command after /dev. It’s usually sda ( ie /dev/sda ) but could be something else. Try running the command again with the drive specified.

Also double check boot order settings in the bios

As a disk name (check the boot partition that is made by “restore from image”.
Mine was labeled “sda1” so using “sda” as sugested in the tutorial did not work.
Maybe you fase the same issue.
I would like to suggest adding this to the installation guide.

I had a boss once that would do that to me when I called and said something wasn’t working on my laptop. Works for me he said.
