HAOS on Synology (VM) - how to use bluetooth/zigbee?

Does anyone know whether I can plug in a bluetooth or zigbee USB into my
Synology (DS920+ w/DSM7) as I have a few zigbee devices I’d like to use. ATM I have no idea how to get HA to see them.

My current set up looks something like:

Aeotec hub (zwave & zigbee) same as Samsung SmartThings hub
Philips white light (zigbee)
SmartThings motion sensor
Switchbot hub w/ IR blaster
S/B curtains (working via app, google, alexa, s/b hub and HAOS)
S/B contact sensor on door (doesn’t do much aside notify of presence and door movements)
S/B bots (connected via Google/Alexa & S/B hub)
S/B motion sensor (doesn’t do much at all but am interested in getting it working with other devices).

Would I need a specific type of dongle to help with this, such as the ConBee?

Will that work with Synology?

I’ve had numerous installations of HA over the last few months and this, so far, is the best I’ve managed to get it working. I back up the VM on the 920 every other day and have backups automated for the HAOS install itself, which in turn backs up to my Google Drive (thanks to an awesome addon).

So I really don’t want to have to move it from the 920 IF it can be avoided (plus, I don’t want to leave another device switched on 24/7)…

Hi,

Randomly found your message.
In case you haven’t found out yet, I am using a zigbee dongle on one of the synology USB port.

You just need to mount it as USB device on VMM.
Working with Zigbee2mqtt
