HAOS running on Virtualbox not possible to START due to an error Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

After updating my OS/Ubuntu 22.04, the HAOS running on Virtualbox was unable to START due to following error:
"Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver is either not loaded or not set up correctly. Please reinstall virtualbox-dkms package and load the kernel module by executing

‘modprobe vboxdrv’"

Tried all help topics available but so far no luck.
Can anyone assist me on that please.

You can reboot holding the F12 and the right shift key. Go to the Advanced menu and boot with the old kernel if you have not deleted it.

I ran into this upgrading to 23.04 and 6.0.14. Hopefully this will get you back up and running.

Thanks for your prompt help. I followed the instruction, but still the same.
I am a novice who has very limited knowledge about most of the jargon. I get following when attempt to install dkms:
depmod…
Building initial module for 6.5.0-14-generic
ERROR: Cannot create report: [Errno 17] File exists: ‘/var/crash/virtualbox-dkms.0.crash’
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 6.5.0-14-generic (x86_64)
Consult /var/lib/dkms/virtualbox/6.1.38/build/make.log for more information.
dpkg: error processing package virtualbox-dkms (–configure):
installed virtualbox-dkms package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 10

Errors were encountered while processing: virtualbox-dkms
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

any assistance would be much appreciated.

/usr/lib/virtualbox/vboxdrv.sh setup

(with sudo / admin account)

might need linux-headers-$(uname -r) and or some dkms package

otherwise check here… maybe you upgraded your OS in place? and the vbox repo is pinned to your last release or something…
