I have a Harmony Companion/Hub that I just got and was wondering if there was any way to program the remote to control Lights/Switches that are Z-Wave or MQTT devices somehow. I don’t have any other hubs but was hoping there was a way to do this. I am guess no but I thought someone smarter than me would have an idea.
You can use the emulated hue component or the emulated roku custom component
I have tried using the emulated hue but I am struggling to get it set up. Here is what I have in my config file. Nothing seems to show up though. I am using home assistant in Unraid so it is a docker.
emulated_hue:
host_ip: 192.168.1.190
expose_by_default: false
entities:
switch.living_room_switch:
name: Living Room Switch
Edit: I was able to figure something out by using the HA Bridge Docker and use that to connect to the Harmony Hub with HA
Could you connect harmony hub with Homebridge?
I’ve ditched emulated_hue altogether now, emulated_roku is much better for use with harmony, you can use any button for starters and it’s much easier to build into an activity.
You can control any HA function with it, it’s only a trigger.
