Harmony Remote, Dim lights with Pause button

Hi, I have tried in several ways, but I do not come to the solution.

I have:

-Harmony remote logitech,

-Home Assistant docker on a qnap

-Philips Hue

And I try to do this:

When I press the pause button on the remote, I would like the dim lights to come on, when I press play, on the remote, I wish they would go out.

Where should I look to understand how to do it?

Thanks

Try with an up?

What you want is not possible. Harmony does not push events from the remote to HA.

Unless I’m missing something obvious this should be simple.

Add the emulated_roku integration to HA and set up an automation to turn on and off the lights.

Add the emulated_roku device to Harmony and set up a sequence rather than command on the play and pause buttons of the activity to do the play or pause function as normal and also trigger whichever button in the emulated_roku automation that you assigned to turn on or off the lights.

I use mine like this to control various lights, a fan and direct select apps on a FireTV Stick.

everything you wrote here is anything but simple for new users…

If they can get the Harmony integration working OK I’d choose to disagree like I did with you saying it was impossible

Only pulling your leg but I remember it being pretty basic cut and paste from the guides, change to your entity names type stuff.

Thanks to both, I finally chose to install kodi and do everything from there. Thanks for the time you have dedicated to me!

Good to hear :+1:

When you’re in the mood for taking things further, I’d still recommend you look at emulated_roku, you can use your Harmony to trigger literally anything in Home Assistant either as a button press or part of an Activity routine. Was a game changer for me when released a few years back, set up might look a bit daunting but it really isn’t once you actually try it. If you want any help just ask.
