Has anybody tried this IP Doorbell integration?

I’ve been using this IP Video Doorbell for a few years now and it’s rock solid: notifications, intercom, motion, door unlock, etc. They now have an API for smarthome integration. My programming knowledge is very limited and I haven’t found any mentions to it in the forums. Has anybody looked into it (or can anybody take a quick look into it)?

That’s an insane expensive doorbell.

@uspino also using the GBF IP intercom and would like to integrate w/HA. I currently don’t know how to interface with the intercom aside from the stock web interface and ControlCam2 app.
Do you have the APIs?

They did send me some API related documents but I can’t find any relevant info there. Apparently they are working on a better implementation. I can forward them to you if you want to take a look. I did manage to find out the snapshot jpg http call. That way you can use the generic camera plug in for live view.

I ended up attaching two inexpensive Shelly 1 devices intercepting the open/close relay output (that I use as a Gate Cover Component in HA) and the doorbell ring relay output. That gives you all sorts of options to control, log, etc. I’ve ended up using this Homebridge component for Homekit integration, and it works great: I get a motion alert (snapshot) on gate opening and a doorbell alert (live video) on doorbell ringing. Of course, no two way audio (yet).

This GBF is actually a very good IP Video Doorbell. Solid, integrated keypad, runs forever without restarting. But the ControlCam2 app is very clunky.

yeah, the GBF IP Doorbell is robust but the ControlCam2 app is disappointing.

If you want to stream video+audio, you can RTSP into VLC network connection e.g.: rtsp://100.1.1.202:554/Streaming/channels/101

Are you able to get controls to/from the GBF (ring, unlock) via http (not via ControlCam2 app)?

Can you please forward me the API doc, let’s see what we can do with it.

I was referring to video + audio in Homekit. RTSP does provide audio, but the Homebridge plugin is not able to handle it. It just gives you live video.

Not directly, I do that through the Shelly 1’s. I guess there should also be a way to control/read relays directly using ONVIF…

I’ll send you what I have, let me know

Any updates on this? Just moved into a house with this doorbell. Not sure how to integrate with home assistant…

I gave up on it. Went with a UniFi Protect. Good luck.
