Has anyone integrated GE Washer/Dryer (Laundry) using the ha_gehome custom integration? What entities/control do you get?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking into using the ha_gehome integration (for GE SmartHQ / GE Home) with my Fisher and Paykel washer/dryer combo (in the Laundry category). Before I commit to installing/configuring it, I wanted to see if others have got this working and what you can actually do once it’s set up.

Some specific questions:

  1. Which entities are exposed
  • What sensors/devices show up under the washer/dryer? (e.g. cycle name, remaining time, door locked, current status, etc.)
  • Are there binary sensors (on/off or open/closed) or only standard sensors?
  1. What can you control
  • Can you start/stop/pausing cycles from HA?
  • Can you set or change the cycle type (delicate, heavy, etc.)?
  • Can you monitor/receive notifications for things like load imbalance, errors, or completion?
  • Any attributes like temperature, spin speed, rinse cycles, etc.
  1. Reliability / Delay / Updates
  • How responsive is the integration (how often does it update status)?
  • Any issues with the device going offline / HA losing sync?
  • Are there things that don’t work (or that work poorly)?
  1. Version / Region info
  • Which version of the integration are you running?
  • Which firmware/model of washer/dryer do you have?
  • Region (US / EU / other) — just in case that matters.

If anyone could share their YAML or screenshots of what their entities look like for the washer/dryer, that would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

USA GE washer and dryer. My only use is for monitoring when each load is finished, and the notification fires the instant that the door lock solenoids release on both appliances:

.

Yes, I have it installed for both the washer and the dryer. Between both units 35 entities are exposed. More than I’ll ever use or care about. We use it mostly as a reminder that the cycle has completed, using voice notifications w ChimeTTS.
The HA app seems pretty robust and the devices stay connected unless I mess with the local WiFi. Pairing was easy. Updates to the app are infrequent. We are in the US. If you’d like a full list of available sensors, just let me know.

Thanks so much for the detailed info  That’s really helpful and exactly what I was hoping to learn before setting it up. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
