HASOS Intel Nuc AEOTEC Z Stick Gen5+ Not Pairing Devices

Hi All.

I am new to HA i just installed HASOS on a Intel Nuc i had sitting around and purchased an AEOTEC Z Stick Gen5+ which i plugged into the NUC and everything on the stick is green indicating its working. I went through the HASOS setup and added the integration for Zwave-JS which added the addon as well and everything appears to be setup and working correctly. The Device is listed and configured by id for the stick and i appear to be able to go into inclusion/exclusion modes but the darn thing never finds a device. Not sure where i am going wrong here. I have two devices i am attempting to pair a brand new AEOTEC Multipurpose Sensor and a Leaksmart Water Sensor 1st Gen both are more or less Smartthings devices should these work or does anyone have any insights on things i might have missed?

Appreciate any help.
Brandon

I had a similar experience with my Nuc and Aeotec z-stick.
What fixed it for me was a short USB extension cable(about .5 meters long), to move the z-stick away form the Nuc and any electromagnetic interference.

Hope it’s of help

Not sure, but I like to use ZWaveJS2MQTT and use its logger as well using it to enable zwavejs logger to try to get a better idea of what’s going on.

Agree 100% with @Akriss: Short USB cable - better yet a small, powered USB 2 hub. (Yes 2 - USB3 can interfere with Zigbee). Also applicable if you do this with a Pi4b.

Don’t know specifically what kind of interference it is about these but man these devices drive USB Zwave and Zigbee sticks nuts. The sticks simply do NOT like being plugged directly into the NUC or Pi ports. Just moving the stick out as little as a few centimeters and everything starts working.
