HASS.Agent: Windows client to receive notifications, use commands, sensors, quick actions and more!

I want to install HASS.Agent on my administrator account and run it as a service, so I can control the PC even when my son is logged in with his simple (non-administrator) account. I installed both the application and the service, then connected it to HA via integration and to Mosquitto. The problem is that HA only sees the PC when I’m logged in; if my son is, it doesn’t, even though I’ve verified that the service is working. I guess I don’t understand how it works.

I’m not at a workstation to verify exactly where, but I believe you look into the “service” and/or mqtt settings and make sure that it is connecting to mqtt. All tests should work. I don’t need to be logged in to have some basic controls over the computer.

Not sure if this is a dead topic but I have actually installed this on a couple of Windows domain controllers in my home network (I am not only nerd enough to have ONE but TWO because…REDUNDANCY).

The reason for this is, short of buying my own , independent network monitoring software (Solarwinds is my favorite but $$$$), there is a lot of great information in this for Windows machines and I am seeing a lot of HACS additions that are great for Unify and FortiNet (if only we had some code people who would do Cisco…I am a network architect, therefore my coding abilities are sub par at best).

Home Assistant could be a viable network monitoring solution for those people who want to monitor their home networks. And this is only enforced because of the tools we are getting with Z-Wave (though I wish more), Zigbee (Zigporter is a great visualization tool), Bluetooth, MQTT, Matter, etc. You could, in theory, monitor every individual network in the home under one pane of glass, whcih I believe Home Assistant is becoming.

Is there any thought or discussion of porting the HASS.Agent to a service that runs so it would report even if someone is not logged onto the device? I could also see this as valuable for those who just want to monitor their laptops and desktops as we are not always logged into our machines.

Thank you for consideration and if I need to move this somewhere or create a new topic, I certainly can.
