I did it. It worked. I am now running 2 pi’s. One for HA, one for Plex. One pi will run both, but slowly.
Installing PMS on any version of a Pi is asking that Pi to to a LOT even with nothing else installed on the Pi.
Do you use PMS on Pi to stream movies or just music?
How it works with 1080p and 4K movies? Is it able to stream, without transcoding, of course?
Movies, tv series, music, audio books, family photo albums… it’s our goto media storage. 1080p is our default. The pi3 handles 2 different streams simultaneously without effort. 3 will cause it to stutter a bit but I’m not sure if that’s the PI or my wifi.
Can anyone advise if there has been any change to this info since Rpi 4 became available? Thanks!
I migrated my Plex server from a pi3b+ to a pi4. Big performance gain! I still run it as a standalone, dedicated Plex server though.
