I am using Hass.io 0.95.1 on Proxmox and scripts, lights and switches are turning on and off at random times, there is no mention of several of these entities in automation, scripts or scenes and can only be controlled via Emulated Hue or Lovelace.
I also tried HassIO 0.94.4. and 0.95.0. please help!
If you’re sure it’s not someone else logged into HA messing with you (change your password) then it could be any number of things.
Check your log for errors.
To narrow down the problem if there is nothing obvious in the logs, turn off all your automations. Turn them on one at a time checking for aberrant behaviour.
Check all the entities you are controlling are specified correctly. Some integrations default to ‘all devices’ if an entity id is not supplied or is supplied incorrectly.
Thank you, I will give that a try, is there a way to see what automation or event caused a device to change other than the log book, thanks for your help I am still learning.
Unfortunately no there is not. Hence the one by one approach.
Just an edge case: it can also be an external cause like your Hue app or similar. Something you might not think of right away
Are you using Alexa at all? could it be the new Guard mode?
Yes I am and thats when it seems to of started when I updated alexa_media, are you thinking its with the custom component or emulated hue within the Alexa app, thanks for any help.
I have had Alexa Guard in away mode since I installed it, it seems away lighting combined with emulated hue is the issue. After going to Away Lighting in the Alexa app and viewing history it confirms this is the issue. Thanks for helping. I will keep Alexa Guard on Home.
You can still use guard and turn away lighting off, or have guard turn on when you leave the house and off when you return.
