Hass.io/HassOS version for Intel NUC

Please make Hass.io on Intel NUC as standalone OS.

I gotta say, I agree with this…

I’m running the OLD build of Hass.io (before HassOS) on my NUC and I love it - works so well!
I just hope nothing bad happens to it because the download has disappeared :frowning:

I understand the comments everyone will make about running it under Linux and using Docker for more flexibility… but I simply don’t need that fuss or faff right now. I have other boxes to fiddle. Hass.io was great for me on my Raspberry Pi but I ran so many little things and add-ons on that it that I outgrew it, so bought a cheap NUC from eBay and it’s been incredible!

It’s certainly something I was hoping for when they announced HassOS.

It’s on the roadmap for the next full version release: https://github.com/home-assistant/hassos/issues/214.

It’s been planned since the beginning, but progress on HassOS seems to be slow compared to the rest of Home Assistant, so I’m not sure if it will actually happen this year like the issue mentions. It will probably happen at some point though, as many others (including myself) have been asking for it since the minute HassOS was announced.

Thats good enough for me. Time to start looking for NUC bargains.

FYI, a PR has been merged to add a NUC build to HassOS, so a NUC release should be coming soon™.
