Hass.io Not updating from 0.88

Hello!

It has been a while since i updated my hassio… I was afraid to update because it was working fine, and I like better the States view over Lovelace (I am lazy, States worked fine and when I changed to lovelace there where tons of errors) and because I have been busy lately.

Today, after unwillingly updating my IOS app I realized that I needed to update Hassio… but when I hit the Update button, it does nothing. Is it still possible to update from 0.88 to the latest version?

Thank you!

That’s a big jump, so before updating Home Assistant, you should read through the release notes for each major version. Also run the Configuration Check addon before updating to see what needs to be changed in your configuration.yaml. Also make a snapshot and move it to external media before updating.

You also don’t need to jump from 0.88 all the way to 0.102.2. You can go a few versions at a time if needed.

^ this.

Or even better update one version, fix the breaking changes, go to the next version.

rinse…repeat…until done.

Thank you guys!

How do I update to a version that is not the most recent?
I only see the Update button for the newest!

Thanks again

You can go to the CLI thru SSH & run:

homeassistant update --options version=0.89.0

I don’t use hassio so I’ve never done it myself but a search here leads me to believe it will work.
